During the Houston Spartans meeting this past Saturday, it was unanimously voted that all 9 participating candidates be elected to the Board. It is with pleasure we announce the following 2011 Houston Spartans Board of Directors.

 

Mike Pruente

Mike was born and raised in Clarkston, Michigan.  He graduated from Michigan State with a degree in Supply Chain Management in 2007 and currently works for ConocoPhillips as the Contingent Workforce Category Lead. Marc Gouliat

Marc has been active in the Houston Alumni organization for the past year sitting in on board meetings, helping to sponsor events, organizing the Woodlands Football viewing for 2011. His main reasons for involvement is to increase alumni involvement throughout the Houston Metroplex. Read more->


Lloyd Mitchell

Lloyd is currently acting Vice President of Houston Spartans and a participant for MSU Supply Chain Management alumni. He  sees and opportunity to continue development of Houston Spartans by increasing opportunities for networking, professional development, community involvement and socializing. Read more->


Jeff Hawkins

Jeff has been the President of the Houston Spartans since 1999, and is looking to move out of the current role, however remain on the board in order to provide advice and mentoring to newer board members. Frank Svetlik

Frank is a member of Maritime Law Association of the United States and Houston Maritime Arbitrators Association. His practice focuses on representation of Houston based businesses in both transactional and litigation matters. Frank believes every organization can use the input of counsel from time to time in its governance and is pleased to have the opportunity to offer his insight and assistance as requested and appropriate. Emily Rubino

Emily is interested in getting to know the active alums, and to help in expanding alumni outreach in Metro Houston, especially in The Woodlands and Montgomery County.  She would also like to add networking opportunities in a professional setting, outside of our fantastic Spartan sports teams. David Comeaux

David came across The Houston Spartans a couple of years ago and it has re-invigorated his support for the school.  He helped with the project to draft the bylaws that passed muster with the MSUAA.  David would like to support member outreach and programming for lawyers and Human Resources professionals.  Read more->


David Astrein

David has been the Young Alumni Coordinator for the Houston Spartans since graduating and moving to Houston in 2008.  In his current role his responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing game watches, acting as a resource to recent grads as they transition from MSU to the Houston area and assisting with organizing other social functions of the club. Celia Moshier

Celia has served as Secretary to the Houston Spartans for the past two years. During this time she set up the Houston Spartans E-newsletter and expanded the website, both of which she currently maintains. She would like to continue managing the Houston Spartans marketing and communication mediums. Read more->

 

Officers, roles, responsibilities and term lengths for each Board Member will be determined at the first Board of Directors meeting, May 7th and will be announced the following Monday.
